October Social & Autumnal Transitions
Join us for our monthly community meet-up! As we head deeper into Autumn, we will explore the theme of managing transitions.
Time & Location
20 Oct 2023, 18:00 – 22:30
Active Wellness Centre, 79 Lever St, Manchester M1 1FL, UK
About the event
Join us for our monthly community meet-up! As we head deeper into Autumn, we will explore the theme of managing transitions. Find details of the event below:
6 pm- Meditation with Michael:
We will be looking at one of the laws of Dhamma, ‘Anicca’. Throughout the session, you will practice observing the ever-changing sensations within the body, which will show you experientially, that all will eventually pass. This will empower you to allow transitions to occur within and around you naturally without aversion or craving.
7 pm- Breathwork with Briony:
Join us for this nourishing and restorative 90-minute session, which will include a 50-minute conscious connected breathwork journey, led by Briony Gunson. Breathwork has the potential for immense healing.
Breathwork is a powerful practice to:
Ease emotional stress + soften anxiety
Reduce overwhelm + overthinking
Create more emotional balance
8.30 pm- Vegan, gluten-free supper:
Saima’s famous Chilli with tortilla chips and guacamole (mild) will be served.
9.15 pm- There will be a support circle for those needing peer-to-peer support. This is facilitated by a trained space holder. Please note that whilst the circle can feel therapeutic, it is not group therapy. Please book a free ticket if you would like to attend the circle.
About the Community
Our get-togethers are relaxed occasions where lovely people meet and share their experiences of the psychedelic world (if they want to - no pressure). Even if you have no experience with psychedelics, you are still very welcome. If you're nervous, you're in good company - most of us are introverts and the society is extremely welcoming.
Accessibility & Cost of Living
This venue does not currently have accessible toilet facilities and they are seeking to change this in 2023. Until then, we are seeking other spaces to host events to ensure as many as possible can attend and that things remain affordable.
We have tickets available for anyone on a low income, no questions asked in exchange for services within the community. If you'd like one of these please email mcrpsychedelic@gmail.com.
Disclaimer
Whilst we'll talk a lot about psychedelics, we ask that you don't bring any with you to the meet-ups, nor solicit them from members. It's worth remembering that possession of these substances remains illegal in the UK and we want to make sure everyone who comes along feels safe doing so.
